Marina Makar, PT, DPT
Marina graduated from CSULB in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology while completing the prerequisites for physical therapy programs. She pursued psychology to better understand the person as a whole, believing that effective care requires attention to both physical and emotional well-being. Before starting graduate school, her passion for physical therapy grew stronger as she worked as a physical therapy technician in both a long-term acute care hospital and an outpatient clinic. Marina went on to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Youngstown State University, where she completed three clinical rotations: two in outpatient orthopedics and one in the MICU, with additional exposure to the neuro ICU.
Marina views physical therapy as a creative, patient-centered process. She designs individualized treatment plans that honor each person’s learning style, motivation level, and unique impairments- helping patients feel understood, supported, and empowered throughout their rehabilitation.
In her free time, Marina enjoys an active lifestyle, playing sports, hiking, and spending days at the beach. She also cherishes quality time with her husband, family, and friends, whether it’s relaxing at home, watching a good movie, or sharing adventures together.
